PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Jeff Capel has only been in Pittsburgh seven months since being named Pitt men’s basketball head coach, but he already knows what his new town is all about.

Capel tells The Fan Morning show Saturday’s massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue is an incredibly tragic event, but he has seen how Pittsburgh bounces back and how its people have come together.

“I kind of knew about this place, about this city but to see it in action was really, really cool,” said Capel.

Capel adds the division in the United States can only be healed with a message of love.

“We can’t let stuff divide us and I think intelligent people understand that. There are a lot of things going on in this country right now that are geared to divide us and we have to stay strong and we have to be above it and we have to understand how much we need each other.”
