AB Wrong To Go After Bouchette Publicly

A Twitter beef that could have been avoided

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- Rarely does Antonio Brown do something like go directly after a reporter on social media.

But he did so Monday night after Hall Of Fame reporter Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweeted, "Antonio Browns limps off practice field after some early individual work."

Brown took exception to this and tweeted back at Bouchette two hours later saying, "Bro seriously have some respect you making [stuff] up clown."

The Fan Morning Show dove into this controversy Tuesday morning. Colin Dunlap normally takes AB's side on things. When Brown was late to his visit to Children's Hospital over the weekend, Colin defended him saying that he is at least giving his time and money (he donated $100,000 to the hospital in 2016) to kids in need and dealing with illness.

But, Colin says he was wrong here. Brown could have approached Bouchette separately and told him that he believed his reporting was false. He didn't have to make a run back at him publicly. Bouchette has shown he is not above retracting a report once he finds out it is not accurate.

Jim Colony says this is rather out of character for Brown. Normally he does not bring things like this to light and in fact, now that he has given more recognition to the tweet, more and more people are seeing it and questioning just how healthy he is. If he had just let it go and stand on it's own without allowing for his 1.22 million followers to see it, it may have passed.

The guys say this is all in poor timing as well, as Jalen Ramsey of the Jaguars was just suspended a week for fighting with a reporter on Twitter.

Brown has since quoted Tupac lyrics and has tweeted out a video of Denzel Washington talking about the importance of reporting truth.

Not a great look for AB or his brand here. He is better than this, regardless of the accuracy of the reporting.
