PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) –  Despite the drama that has taken over the Pittsburgh Steelers lately, Steelers owner Art Rooney II believes the Steelers have a “core group of players” that will be able to turn around the season next year.

While speaking with 93.7 The Fan’s Cook and Joe, Rooney said that the team will “be hard at work this offseason” to get reach the playoffs, and win.

“Bottom line is that we want to be a playoff team that’s successful at the end of the season, and we need to get back to doing what we need to do to do that.“

And while we wait to hear the fate of Antonio Brown, Rooney seems optimistic about the team players from Ben to TJ.

“I think we have a core group of players that can be the nucleus of another good team and a playoff team. Certainly I feel good about Ben and the condition he is in physically and mentally and certainly the development of some the young players that are coming up like JuJu [Smith-Schuster] and [James] Conner and TJ Watt. There are a lot of things we can build on and get back to where we want to be.”
