PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – NFL Insider John Clayton made his weekly appearance on The PM Team from Canton Ohio as he will be in attendance for the Hall of Fame festivities. Clayton discussed how he believes Troy Polamalu will be a first ballot hall of famer next year.

“Yes I do. It’s tough for safeties to get in but if you’re a game changer like Troy, with all the pro bowls, I think he’s a first ballot,” said Clayton.

Last night was the Hall of Fame Game between the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons. For Clayton it was a brutal football game for the fans in attendance.

“I don’t know who was in more pain, you’ve got Vic Fangio with his kidney stones still staying in him or us watching this game,” said Clayton.

In Oakland, Antonio Brown did not show up to Raiders camp for the second straight day.

“Now you see why hard knocks is there,” said Clayton.

Clayton believes Brown is going to have a better season than Le’Veon Bell this season.

“The one thing is he’s had a six year stretch where he’s been the best wide receiver in football.”

Baker Mayfield called out his receivers in practice this week. John doesn’t believe that was a smart idea.

“I think it’s a mistake. We’ve seen how the negative effects on Ben Roethlisberger for calling out wide receivers on the radio, and here he (Mayfield) is calling players out on the field.”
