PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Ben Roethlisberger took time on his radio show Tuesday to address criticism he made about some of his wide receivers last week.

Roethlisberger told Cook and Joe his comments were blown out of proportion and that his criticism of Antonio Brown and James Washington were meant to motivate and not tear down.

"There's not an issue.  You know, people sometimes make a big deal about things that are said, rightfully so, whatever they want to do.  But we always say that doesn't affect us.  They talk about leadership or whatever, and I knew there was no issue in our locker room.  AB knew there was no issue in our locker room between he and I, we've got a great relationship.  Even James Washington, it was nothing more than me challenging him to be ready to go and he had a great week of practice.  Him and I had a great talk on Saturday morning after the week, and there was no hard feelings, which I didn't think there would be."

Roethlisberger went on to add that he and Brown get along better than people perceive and that AB is one of the best of all-time.

“We’ve got a friendship. He is one of my closer friends on the team. We’ve played together for a long time and it just shows how special of a player he is. The things that he is able to do and if line up against the great he’s probably going to be undersized, under speed, under all these things but when he goes out and plays the game, he plays it as big as anybody that’s ever played it.”
