PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Bills Beat Writer Jay Skurski from The Buffalo News joined Joe Starkey and Ron Cook on The Cook and Joe Show Friday afternoon to preview the game Sunday night from the Buffalo perspective.

The Buffalo Bills are 9-4 and kind of a surprise story in the NFL this season, but people still are hesitant to say that they are a serious playoff contender.

"Over the last month or so they have started to sway people," said Skurski. "I think the highlight of that would probably be their Thanksgiving win over Dallas. Obviously, that caught a lot of attention given that it was on the national stage."

Skurski says that the Bills look like a team that seems to be finding themselves offensively over the past month to compliment what has been a top defense in the NFL this season.

Bills Quarterback Josh Allen has gradually improved this season and has become a big weapon for Buffalo.

"He has taken defeciencies in his game and worked on them," said Skurski. "Particularly at the start of this season he was throwing too many interceptions, Week 4 agianst New England he was intercepted 3 times and he said after that game I have to stop doing that, I have to take better care of the football. Whenever he has had learning opportunities it seems like he has been able to apply those."

Even though Allen has fixed some of the deficiencies he still struggles at times when throwing the deep ball and has missed a lot of big play opportunities for the Bills.

They wrapped up the conversation discussing how the play of the Special Teams could decide this game on Sunday and Skurski says that the Steelers definitely have a slight edge in that apect of the game this season.
