CLEVELAND (93.7 The Fan) - Less than a week after the Steelers released him, defensive back Morgan Burnett has signed with the Cleveland Browns.

Pittsburgh released Burnett on Monday. He was only one year into a three year deal he had signed with the Steelers before last season.

Burnett played his first eight seasons in the NFL with the Green Bay packers.

Burnett played in 11 games for the Steelers in 2018, starting two.

Some of his lifetime stats include 713 tackles, 50 passes defensed, nine interceptions, nine fumble recoveries and forced eight fumbles.

The Browns also announced Friday they have signed quarterback Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert last played football for the Orlando Apollos in the Alliance of American Football.
