PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – After avoiding a sweep in Arizona and losing four of their six games on their road trip the Pirates will return home on Friday, June 15 to begin a 10 game homestand which will start with a three game set against Cincinnati.

The Pirates (33-35) enter today in fourth place of the National League Central Division only ahead of the Reds (25-43) who have been in last place for nearly the entire season.

On the mound for Pittsburgh will be right hander Chad Kuhl. In 13 starts this season Kuhl has gone 4-4 with a 3.95 earned run average. In his last outing, Kuhl was dealt the loss at the Pirates fell 3-1 to the Chicago Cubs on June 8 when he went 5.1 innings allowing three earned runs on eight hits while striking out six. In four career starts against the Reds Kuhl has a 1-1 record with a 2.78 ERA.

Opposing Kuhl will be righty, Matt Harvey. The former Met will be making his seventh start for the Reds since being acquired in a trade on May 8. His lone win a Red came against the Pirates earlier this season.

The Pirates will look to attack Harvey with a pair of Joshes. First basemen Josh Bell, who is hitting .316 in his last seven games, has a career .375 batting average and a homerun against the veteran right hander. Second basemen Josh Harrison has had even more success against Harvey, hitting .455 in 11 career at bats against the man formerly known as the “Dark Knight”.
