PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree, once considered a bust for a first round draft pick is now AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Dupree recorded two sacks and forced a fumble and had a fumble recovery against Indianapolis last week.

Dupree now has tied his career high for sacks with 6.0 and has a combined 32 total tackles on the season, only 10 away from his career high.

This is the first Player of the Week award for Dupree.

Fellow linebacker T.J. Watt says he is happy for his teammate.

“He’s playing really well and I’m really happy for Bud, I think the potential has always been there and it’s truly showing and I’m just so happy that I get to see the hardwork pay off because truly, he works his butt off,” said

Dupree was selected 22nd overall in the 2015 draft and is on the final year of his current contract.
