Just trash talk or over the line considering his track record?

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- Ben Roethlisberger does not disappoint on The Cook and Joe Show every Tuesday.

This week, #7 explained to the listeners that while he was coming to the line of scrimmage, Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict pointed to Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster just after knocking Antonio Brown temporarily out of the game with a shot to the head saying, "You're next!"

Ben called it "completely uncalled for" and "over the line."

The Fan Morning Show debated whether or not they agree with Ben's sentiments on Wednesday morning. Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack recognize there are a lot of crazy things that are said on a football field throughout a game. In fact, this is most likely not the worst thing that has been said in the heat of battle.

Chris Mack said that while he realizes this is just an intimidation tactic and part of Burfict's game, when it comes from a player who's been suspended and fined multiple times for dirty hits and for injuring players, you have to give more credence to his words. This guy has proven that he is not above trying to take people out and crosses that line between hitting to "hurt" people or make them feel the sting of a tackle, and hitting to "injure" people, as in take them out of the game and potentially end their season or career. When the trash talk comes out of Burfict's mouth, it's different.

Colin Dunlap, on the other hand, said that whether they want to admit it or not, a lot of linebackers over the history of the NFL have hit offensive players to try to knock them out of the game. Those same linebackers trash talk all the time and make intimidating threats like Burfict's on the field. He called it hypocritical to get upset over Burfict's words over any other player that makes threats in talking trash because it's long been part of the game.

Colin called Burfict's actions "deplorable" but his words not something to get upset about. Chris believes that when they come from a maniac like Burfict, they take on a whole new meaning.

What do you think? Fair or foul?
