PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell came up clutch when the team needed him against the Patriots, hitting a 48-yard field goal with 2:34 left in the game to make the score 17-10, but it was what he did earlier in the game that has The PM Team still concerned.

Boswell missed a 32-yard chip shot with the score 14-7 in the 3rd quarter and Andrew Fillipponi sees a lot of another former Pittsburgh athlete that flamed out in the Steelers kicker.

"It reminds me of Pedro Alvarez" Andrew said.  "He could make the bang-bang play, he could make the throw to first when he didn't have to think about it, but if there was a lazy groundball hit to third, that's when he would airmail a throw into the fifth row.  And I think the same is true of Boswell."

Chris Mueller has reached the point where, heading into New Orleans next week, he thinks it's time to start getting more aggressive on fourth down instead of turning it over to the kicker.

"The closer they are, if they're probably 35 and under especially range for a field goal, you need touchdowns most likely to beat New Orleans in New Orleans.  If it's even 4th and reasonable, I'd rather see them go for it."

The guys also tried to figure out what's going on in Mike Tomlin's head when he sends Boswell out there for a field goal attempt.  Click the audio below to hear that conversation and more!
