PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Radio.com insider for the Miami Dolphins Armondo Salguero opened up with the PM Team about Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Listen to your team news NOW.

“Prior to this season the coaches asked him to learn six different positions. It’s strange that one of the things he didn’t like with being with the Dolphins is that they were asking him to play different positions,” said Salguero.

Salguero said that when a team asks a player to play multiple positions, they believe the player can handle it. So if that’s why he left the Dolphins, he wasn’t happy with them asking him to do so much. He also doesn’t think Fitzpatrick wanted to leave the Dolphins because of how bad they are going to be this season.

“Minkah came out of Alabama as a high character guy and it wouldn’t look good if he wanted to leave the Dolphins because of hard times,” said Salguero.

Fitzpatrick is most comfortable playing the slot corner position.

“Nick Saban said that he was the best at playing the slot corner position, he was one of the best in the NFL at that position.”

Salguero says that the Dolphins were offered first round picks from the five teams in the NFL that reached out to them for Fitzpatrick. He implied that the Dolphins believe the Steelers are going to finish very low in the standings this year which is why the Dolphins made the deal with Pittsburgh.

Tune into the PM Team Weekdays from 2PM-6PM.
