PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - It's decision day for the Steelers and running back Le'Veon Bell as the deadline approches. The Steelers have until 4 p.m. to sign him to a long-term deal or he will play for the second straight year under the franchise tag.

Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette joined The Cook and Poni Show on Monday for the latest on the negations as the deadline is near.

"I don't think it's going to get done," Bouchette told the guys.

But he said that he doesn't think that Steelers fans should be concerned over it right now because he will still be here for another year and they could still get a long-tern deal done at the end of next season.

"He is going to be here," Bouchette added. "It's just a question as to whether he is in camp or not."

Bouchette doesn't think there is any truth to the reports out today that he could sit half the season if he doesn't get a ;long-term deal today because it would do nothing to help him with a future contract and it would cost him money as he sits.

Bouchette said that the money is there for a deal...and the right pieces are in place...it's just up to him now if a deal gets done.

"He has everything he could want (here)" Bouchette added. "I don't know how many other teams he could find that kind of cushy spot with an offense with a great quarterback a Hall of Fame wide receiver, 3 Pro Bowl offensive linemen and he also has a great fullback...so he does have  a great situation here."
