NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport tweeted Monday morning that the Steelers will likely place the franchise tag on Le'Veon Bell before the 4 p.m. deadline on Tuesday. Even if the Steelers place the tag on him, they still have until July 16th to negotiate a long-term contract with him. If a deal is not reached by that date, then the franchise tag sticks for the season. Basically, it would be a tremendous gamble for the Steelers not to place the tag on him by Tuesday because he would become a free agent otherwise.

All that being said, Josh Miller is just about done with Bell. He said today that the money the Steelers will potentially use to lock him up long-term could be better spent in other areas like on the defense, which showed plenty of holes by the end of the season. He says that Bell is causing everyone a headache by demanding so much money, dragging out his contract talks, trying to look like the "good guy" in negotiations with the team and even threatening retirement. He thinks that both he and the Steelers are trying to look like they are not the unreasonable ones by saying they want a long-term deal to get done and saying they are close. He has grown tired of it saying, "He's unpredictable but he's very predictable because it's probably not going to be something that's good. I predict that. I think he's going to absolutely blow up this team."

The guys say that these contract talks aren't exactly endearing to his fans and one listener texted into the show affirming that today by saying, "I want to be a big Le'Veon Bell fan so bad, but he makes it so hard." Is that the sentiment of Pittsburgh? Is the public opinion changing on Bell? Is he becoming too unrelatable?

He may be getting in his own way. Listen to the segment below for more.
