ATLANTA (93.7 The Fan) - Former Steelers QB Charlie Batch joined the Cook and Joe Show on Wednesday from the Super Bowl and he believes that the Antonio Brown and Steelers situation can be resolved but it’s going take some work…but don’t put any of the blame on Ben Roethlisberger.

“I’m just like wow are you kidding me? He is getting the blame for this. He is the one out publically trying to say I want you. These are the types of things happening. People are just ignoring those things,” Batch said. “I know how he is wired. He wants to win championships and he can be as selfish as he wants to be because the ultimate goal for him is to win another Super Bowl and this year was a reminder of long it has been since he won it. When they brought that Super Bowl 43 team in against the Chargers and you’re watching it and he is the only one in that locker room from the active players to come over and take that picture…he is just like wow. This is a reminder here were are celebrating and the fans are excited but I’m just sitting back thinking like it’s been 10 years, he wants to go back and win it and it’s the only thing driving him at this point.”

Batch also points out that Ben has always been there to defend Antonio and they have connected on a lot of broken or ad lib plays that have led to touchdowns. It’s because of the connection and communication between them.

“Ben is doing his job,” Batch added. “He is doing it the right way.”

He does believe that the marriage between AB and the Steelers can continue but he is the only one that can make it happen. He looks at it being 50/50 that he returns in 2019.

He also thinks that he better be careful for what he wishes for because he has never played for anyone other than Ben and there might not be another Ben out there in any team he would go to.
