PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – In his first game with the Steelers, players were asking Mark Barron about his last game, which was in the Super Bowl against the Patriots.  Now his new teammates likely will ask Barron about his old Rams team with L.A. here on Sunday.

“Whatever information I have or whatever they ask me, I’m going to give it to them,” Barron said Wednesday.  “I’m on this team now. “

Barron said he still has friendships with Rams players and there isn’t bad blood between him and his old teammates.  The linebacker said while they probably have changed some things, but most is still the same.

“I have some knowledge of what they do and some personality things.”

“It can be extremely challenging if you don’t know what you are doing and if you’re not communicating well and if you’re not disciplined because they do a lot of jet motions and a lot of misdirection stuff," Barron said.  "They have good players everywhere.  You have to be on top of your game.”

In his 8th year out of Alabama, Barron acknowledged that most of what he knows is available to the coaches and players during film study.  One thing Barron did get to see firsthand, is Aaron Donald.

“Great teammate, special player,” Barron said.  “A super-talented guy and really fun to watch him play in front of you and the things he is able to do.”

“He has the talent, but on top of it he has the work ethic and he does it every day.  He comes to work and puts that same level of work in every single day.  There is never a day off.”

Barron signed a two-year contract here in March after 43 solo tackles in 12 games with Los Angeles last year which included a sack and a forced fumble.  He spent five years total with L.A including a pair of seasons with triple-digit tackle totals.

“It’s just another game, but obviously this is my former team and I want to go out and win.”
