PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) –  Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin described it as a fun, mean win as his team is now 5-4 after a 17-12 win over the Rams.

“I thought they played to win without fear, when you are playing a good opponent like the L.A. Rams, that’s how you have to play,” Tomlin said.

Part of that was a gamble Tomlin took, up two points, he decided to go for it on fourth and one from their own 34 yard line.

“We are just playing to win.  Sometimes you have to take calculated risks,” Tomlin said.  “When the guys are playing with that amount of energy and urgency, as coaches, you have to support them and how we support them is by being aggressive.”

Tomlin also got another interception from Minkah Fitzpatrick that sealed the game and a go-ahead touchdown from Fitzpatrick on a 43 yard fumble return.

“It is football justice as far as we are concerned,” Tomlin said of Fitzpatrick’s success.  “It is not anything mystical.  He doesn’t have a rabbit’s foot in his pocked.  He is preparing and taking advantage of opportunities.  It is reasonable to expect it to continue.”
