Rapoport: AB Has Requested A Trade; Steelers Have Not Granted It

Brown said earlier it was 'time to move on and forward'

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reports that Antonio Brown has asked the Steelers for a trade but the team has not granted it.

Tuesday on the NFL Network Rapoport said in response to Brown's afternoon social media post, “What is happening right now is that Antonio Brown is reiterating his request to the Steelers for a trade, but the Steelers have not granted his request for a trade.”

Rapoport first reported the Brown request during Super Bowl week.

“It is still in the team’s hands, it’s still based on what they want to do and how they want to proceed, where they send him and after that happens perhaps Antonio Brown and Drew Rosenhaus maybe do a new deal.”

Rapoport also doubts that the Steelers will get what they want for Brown.

“Maybe a little bit of a more difficult market than for Amari Cooper earlier in the season.  He’s 24 years-old, he was worth a first round pick and now will get a new contract from the Dallas Cowboys.  At this point it is possible Antonio Brown fetches that in a trade, but not likely.  Maybe the better benchmark would be do they get a second rounder back.”
