PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Penguins have been decimated by injuries early on this season but have continued to find ways to win.

One of those big reasons is the consistent play of forward Jake Guentzel, who was named to his first All-Star Game Monday.

Guentzel currently leads the Penguins in goals with 19 and points with 40.

He also leads the team with 120 shots and ice time, clocking in at 790:15.

The 2020 NHL All-Game Weekend will be held January 24-25 in St. Louis ending with a 3-on-3 tournament between the NHL’s four division.

Guentzel will represent the Metropolitan.

The 25-year-old has played in all 38 games for the Pens in 2019 and has dressed in 2020 straight regular-season games.

Guentzel may have a teammate joining him as well.

Kris Letang has once again been named a candidate for “Last Men In’.

Letang will join seven other stars in the Metro and fans can vote for their favorite beginning on New Year’s Day through January 10.

Letang was elected to the 2019 All-Star Game last season through the “Last Men In”.

The Penguins finish the 2019 calender year Monday night at home against Ottawa.
