PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the week for his strong performance against Miami.

Conner had 23 carries for 145 yards and one touchdown. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry.

Conner also had three receptions for five yards.

It is the first 100 yard game for Conner this season and sixth in his three-year career.

Conner, who was injured late in the game Monday night told the Fan he is taking it “Day by day”.

"With these injuries [AC Joint], they're going to linger for a while, that's to be expected...it's kinda just something I have to play through.  If I can do my range of motion with a little bit of strength back, you know I'm going to tough it out and be available for the team."

Conner was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week last year in Week 8 and was the offensive player of the month for October 2018.
