LONG POND, PA (93.7 The Fan) - Team Penske's Josef Newgarden and Andretti Autosports Alexander Rossi will lead the field to the green flag for Sunday's NTT IndyCar Series ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway.

An early morning rainstorm wiped out the first practice session and qualifying forcing the IndyCar Series to set the field by entrant points.  The rule will lineup all four championship contenders in the first two rows.

"We’re all starting in a good spot, the top 5 guys in points obviously, we’re right next to each other," said Newgarden.

Newgarden's teammate Simon Pagenaud will line up on the inside of the front row with PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon on the outside in fourth.

Penske's Will Power will start on the inside of row 3 in fifth with Andretti's Ryan Hunter-Reay on the outside of row three in sixth.

The IndyCars did make it onto the track for a two-hour practice session.

AJ Foyt Racing's Tony Kanaan turned the fastest lap time in the 2-hour session at 216.354 MPH in the No. 14 ABC Supply Chevrolet.

"We made the best out of this session," said Kanaan.  "I was pretty confident coming in here, that we had a competitive car.  We were pretty competitive in the (Indy) 500 and it's a pretty similar set-up we use here."

Dixon was second fastest in the practice session in the No. 9 Honda.

"Race wins are all that matter at this stage in the season if we want to have a shot at defending this championship title," said Dixon, the defending and five-time series champion.

The ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway starts at 2:45 p.m. and will be televised by NBCSN and can be heard on Advance Auto Parts IndyCar Radio Network affiliates.
