Pirates first baseman Josh Bell left Friday’s game against New York with what the team described as left side discomfort.

Bell appeared to pull up on a groundout in the second inning and did not return to the game.

He becomes the latest Pirates player to miss time with injury of late, joining Corey Dickerson and Starling Marte, both of whom missed Friday’s action.

Entering Friday’s game, Bell was hitting .267 with six home runs and 49 RBI.
