PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Pirates injured second baseman Josh Harrison says he had a feeling his bone was fractured when he was hit by pitch in the 3rd inning Sunday against Miami. Marlins pitcher Jose Urena’s pitch was clocked at 96 mph.

Harrison spoke before Tuesday’s Pirates game against the Rockies and said he was glad that pitcher Ivan Nova retaliated and hit Marlins outfielder JB Shuck later that inning.

“We’re a family. We’re brothers and you never want anybody to get hurt . . . but it was something that I felt we lacked last year. I got hit 23 times and I think the 24th one we finally decided to retaliate.”

Harrison fractured the same bone after being hit by a pitcher last September forcing him to miss the last month of the 2017 season.

Harrison is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.
