ATLANTA (93.7 The Fan) - Steelers Pro Bowl wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster says Antonio Brown will be a Steeler for life and he understands why AB missed the last game of the season, he was injured.

Speaking to Jim Rome on CBS Sports Radio, Smith-Schuster said, “I don’t think (Brown) is going anywhere. I think he’s staying black and gold and he’s going to finish out his career (in Pittsburgh).”

Smith-Schuster also explained that it was injury that kept Brown out of the season finale against the Bengals.

“Obviously the situation toward the end of the season where he didn’t finish the season because he had an injury, which is totally understandable,” said Smith-Schuster.

Brown hasn’t spoken to Coach Mike Tomlin or owner Art Rooney II since the last game of the season but Smith-Schuster says he wants AB back “Super bad.”

“He makes the team better. You talk about the first time in franchise history you got two receivers go for 100 catches plus over 1,000 yards each, man, I mean why not?”

Speculations of AB’s ego running wild were also calmed by Smith-Schuster. He says Brown considers both him and JuJu both the number 1 receiver.

“AB always talked about it about being number 1 and 2 there’s really no number 1 and (number) 2, it was always number 1 and number 1, ‘you have this side, I have this side what can we do? Let’s race (to see) who can get the most yards, touchdowns, catches. What can for our team to make each other better?’”, said Smith-Schuster.

Smith-Schuster also talked about the injury he suffered during the Pro Bowl and says his knee is at 100 percent. He also added he will only play in the NFL’s version of an all-star game again if it is a 7-on-7 matchup.

“It’s supposed to be more fun, relaxed and chill but they do put a little money on the line so it kind of get(s) serious.”
