PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Comedian and "Late Night" host Seth Meyers spent his formative years in New Hampshire but he is a diehard Pittsburgh sports fan, especially the Steelers. His father grew up in East Liberty.

“I would say I’m more of a Red Sox fan than a Pirates fan thought a few years ago when the Pirates got good again it was really fun to watch them but the one thing that was non-negotiable growing up in New England is that we had to be Steelers fans,” said Meyers.

Meyers does his show in New York, the new home of former Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell and he says the fans probably feel it’s the wrong decision.

“I think once the Jets signed Le’Veon Bell, Jets fans were probably thinking it wasn’t the right thing to do,” said Meyers.

Meyers says it will be nice to have less drama surrounding the Steelers but he will miss the play of Bell and Antonio Brown on the field.

“It will be nice to just talk about football,” said Meyers. “With that said if the Steelers go 6 and 10 I will long for the drama so ultimately all that matters is whether they win or lose. There’s no such thing as a good lose and there’s no such thing as a bad win when you’re a Steelers fan.”

AB was a guest on his show in the past and he says Brown was “really fun to be around” but “it was like a radio station that wasn’t quite coming in but you could hear some of it.”

Meyers thinks Brown will be wasted in Oakland it makes him “sad” that his talents will be wasted there.

One thing that Meyers is really excited for is the Cleveland Browns saying they’re back.

He says he actual felt bad for Browns fans the past few seasons and is glad they think they’re good again.

“This offseason has been so delicious to me because their arrogance about where they are now can officially make me root against the Cleveland Browns with full force again,” said Meyers. “I think every Steelers fan should be thrilled about this because there have been no results yet and their confidence is just a delight to me.”

Meyers is performing at the Carnegie Library Music Hall this Friday. Only a few tickets are left so get yours today!
