PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Penguins coach Mike Sullivan says that centers Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bjugstad will be out “longer-term” after both sustained injuries in Saturday’s 7-2 win against the Blue Jackets.

Sullivan says both are lower-body injuries and that Malkin will be out longer than Bjugstad.

The good news is it appears Malkin’s injury will not be season-ending.

Malkin was injured in the second period on Saturday after and awkward fall and then was checked into the boards.

Bjugstad also left the game with an undisclosed injury.

The Pens take on the Winnipeg Jets Tuesday night at PPG Paints Arena Tuesday night.
