PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - MLB Network Analyst and Pittsburgh native Sean Casey joined The Cook and Poni Show in studio on Tuesday to discuss the Pirates woes, the DH coming to the National League and some interesting stuff going on right now in his world. All during his two hour visit in studio.

But after some fun we had to address the Pirates woes and how the Pirates can get this turned around.

“Right now they (The Pirates) are just not doing much well in pretty much every facet of the game.” Casey said.

He talked about how they are getting down early and have to fight back and it’s hard to do against some of the competition they are up against right now.

“The starting pitching has to find a way to really get them some length where the Pirates can do something,” Casey added. “Get some guys on and get something going and get some momentum.”

Casey said he feels for Sean Rodriguez who is a clubhouse favorite but the villain in the fans eyes because of his struggles right now.

“When you’re coming to the park and you’re not getting it done…you wear it more than everyone,” Casey added. “But then when everyone else is riding you it’s a tough thing. It’s a tough business and you got to be mentally tough and you gotta find a way to get in your own little world, take a deep breath, slow the game down and get back to what you were doing.”

The guys also got into Casey’s thoughts on the DH coming to the national league and his appearance on celebrity Family Feud.
