PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - Le'Veon Bell has had the franchise tag for all of two days now and things aren't getting any prettier as he has thrown out the idea of sitting out until week 10.

The NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala joined The Starkey and Mueller Show for the latest information on Bell's negotiations and didn't inspire a ton of confidence.

"This is going to be way uglier than last year," Aditi told us.  "Le'Veon himself is sitting here and saying, 'Well I don't know when I'll come in.  I don't know if I'll come in week 2, week 4, week 10.'  A teammate of his yesterday said to me he would totally not be surprised if Le'Veon just skips a couple of games."

As for why the Steelers are in this situation with Bell, Aditi says there are two key reasons.

"I keep saying this, he believes that the running back market needs to come up.  He thinks it's absurd that running backs are valued as they are.  But then "B," he thinks he's a running back-plus, he thinks he's way more valuable than just a mere runinng back and so therefore, he should be paid for that."

When trying to compare how the negotiatons last year went and how it could go this year, Aditi said it's a different ball game.

"Last year the Steelers had to account for two guaranteed years.  The Steelers had to account for the fact that Le'Veon was ready to play on two franchise tages which was a big chunk of guaranteed money...last year was 450 some odd snaps ago."
