PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - He was the Pirates top prospect heading into the 2017 season, and then his year was derailed by injuries.  Heading into 2018 though, Austin Meadows is looking to get back on track.

"It's tough having to go through the injury bug through the season," Meadows told The Starkey and Mueller Show.  "You want to be on the field, you want to play...but things are kind of looking up this year.  I hit a lot of adversity in the past and I think that's a good things honestly.  You learn from it and move on."

Meadows told us about what he worked on this offseason to try and ensure he stays healthy.

"The main thing was just functional movements.  Every workout was a total body workout because this is a total body game."

Looking at how he has performed so far this spring, Meadows talks about the moonshot he hit in Thursday's game that many speculated would have been a river-ball at PNC Park.

"That was probably one of the highest ones I've hit, for sure.  I got htat one good.  He threw a 2-2 changeup kind of right there and I took advantage of it.  That's what you're supposed to do."
