PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - James Conner left the Steelers 27-14 win over the Miami Dolphins on Monday night late in the game with a shoulder injury and while joining The PM Team for The James Conner Show, provided us with an udpate on his status.

"With these injuries [AC Joint], they're going to linger for a while, that's to be expected...it's kinda just something I have to play through.  If I can do my range of motion with a little bit of strength back, you know I'm going to tough it out and be available for the team."

As for the rumors that it was his clavicle or something more serious after being seen in a sling leaving the stadium, James said, "It was hurting...so I had to make sure it wasn't the clavical, and in the sling, it was fresh, it was less than an hour after it happened, so the sling was just to try to take some of the immediate pain away.  I'm not panicking."

Conner's status for next Sunday's game could be up in the air depending on how much he practices this week, but that will be aided by the fact that Mike Tomlin gave James a vote of confidence in his weekly press conference when he said James has reached the point where he doesn't need a full week of practice to play in the game.  Arthur Moats, joining The PM Team today, said that's a big deal for a player and James explained how he has earned that trust from his coach.

"I believe I'm experienced, it's my third year, I know what to expect...Just stay tuned in at practice, watching in the film room, doing everything you can for your body to stay right...I don't even like to call myself an old veteran, it's only my third year, but I believe I know what it takes."
