PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)-Major League Baseball is set to resume with spring training 2.0 on July 1st and a 60 game schedule slated to start on July 23rd or 24th but with a spike in Covid-19 cases across the country there are some who still question whether they can pull this off without another shutdown to the season.

USA Today and Forbes Magazine Baseball Business Writer Maury Brown is one who has doubts.

He said in an interview with the Cook and Joe Show on Thursday that he would be surprised if they could even play half of the games.

He thinks that players when traveling will be exposed to more chances of getting  the virus and if the numbers continue to go up there could be real problems in continuing to play.

Brown tells Cook and Joe that players will get tested often and if a player tests positive there is no certain number of games that he could be out but would have to have two negative tests in a row to be able to return.

He says for sure that there will be players who will opt out and not report and won’t play but there are many who need to pay the bills.
