PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - So far, we know that the Pirates gave up Austin Meadows and Tyler Glasnow for Tampa Bay Rays starter, but there is a Player To Be Named Later in the deal, and according to the man who broke the news, it's a significant piece.

Post-Gazette writer Stephen J. Nesbitt broke the news on the Archer trade and then joined The Starkey and Mueller Show to discuss the details.

"I think it'll probably be somebody pretty good.  It'll be someone that will sting a little bit," Nesbitt told us.

As for who it isn't, we have an idea that a couple of the top prospects in the Pirates system are safe.

"It's not Mitch Keller," the Pirates top prospect.  Nesbitt acknowledge another report that it also isn't the Pirates second best prospect, third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes.

As for his own personal opinion on the trade, Nesbitt likes what it does to the entire rotation.

"I think it makes a ton of sense," Nesbitt shared, citing the Major League depth it adds to a rotation that was short on that experience.
