PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - Penguins center Riley Sheahan has had his taste of the Pens-Flyers rivalry in the regular season, but as we all know, the postseason brings about a whole new level of hatred.

Sheahan joined The Starkey and Mueller Show to talk about what he's expecting in the first round.

"It's extremely exciting," Sheahan told us.  "Playoff hockey is what we all play the season for...You kind of grind the whole season, now you have this new start of season and we all look forward to it."

As for the hatred between these two teams and how quickly he learned about it in his first season with the Pens, Sheahan said it didn't take long for him to get up to speed.

"You go back in the past, there has been some pretty cool games.  I just saw a clip of when Carcillo fought Talbot, just like those kind of games you remember watching growing up.  Once you get here you realize what the rivalry is all about and you learn it pretty quickly."

Sheahan was asked if knowing the rivalry the way he does if he'll feel at all like he should be trying to get under someones skin.

"I think it's important for everybody to add that physical element.  It's one thing to be going around looking to kill guys, it's another thing too to just kind of rub bodies and win your battles and get a piece of a guy when you can."
