A few weeks ago while Ron Cook was on vacation we learned from Brian Batko at the Post-Gazette that our very own Ron Cook had caught a 61 yard touchdown pass in a high school football game in 1973 in a rout of Westinghouse.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The savvy old news hound Joe Starkey immediately went to work on getting more info on this and today is the result of that hard work as we have the QB Joel Golmont who threw Ron that pass.

Ron says that this might have been the only TD of his career and he remembered it fondly …but did he do an end zone celebration?

"I didn't straddle the goal post or anything," Ron said. “Back in that time we returned the ball to the referee.”
