It’s always a good time when MLB Network Analyst and former Major League 1B Sean Casey joins us and today when he joined the Cook and Joe Show it was more great stories, laughs and some key insight.

Including whether he would support one of the proposals for baseball to be played in neutral sites with players staying in hotels and being away from their families for quite some time.

“I think that would be tough. I think the younger players that don’t have families they would be chomping at the bit to get there,” Casey said. “But I think you would have  a lot of veteran guys push back that maybe have made some n=money already and have their families with little kids. I don’t know if they would be willing to leave their families for 3 or 4 months.”

Casey said that MLB has good people in place to review all of the information and make the best decision for how and when to resume play.

He also tells Cook and Joe that the Pirates made a good hire in Derek Shelton to be their next manager.

“They got the right guy in Derek Shelton. This guy is the best,” Casey said. “The fans are going to love him, the players are going to love him. Hopefully thy give him the right tools to be the manager he could be because he is the best.”

Listen to the full interview to hear some great stories of Casey talking about how a fat head of him made a Pearl Jam concert in Italy and how he spent his younger years playing games and sports inside since we can’t leave our houses now.
