As the NHL Draft inches closer the question remains...Will Phil Kessel be moved? Sportsnet NHL Insider John Shannon told Cook and Poni when he joined them on Tuesday that he thinks Kessel won't be moved on Friday but will be before the season starts.

"I will not be surprised to know that Phil Kessel will not be wearing the Pittsburgh black and gold by October" Shannon told the guys.

Shannon said he could see the New York Islanders or Minnesota being in the mix.

"There are a lot of teams that needs Phil's goal scoring right now." Shannon added. "Not surprised to see a team that has enough cap space that can take on his contract be in play."

Shannon said there are teams out there with resources to get Kessel if the Pens feel it's enough. He thinks that Kessel will fetch a draft pick and a good prospect.

Pens GM Jim Rutherford is usually always active around the NHL Draft and the expectation is that he will be again...But what does he have to work with after trying to win a 3rd Stanley Cup?

"The stuff Jim can do is small," Shannon said. "Small tweaks here and there."
