Opinion: Le'Veon Bell Will Continue To Miss Until Week 10

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio says Bell doesn't think it's worth it to come back early

MIAMI (93.7 The Fan) - Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio believes that Le’Veon Bell will continue to miss games until week 10.

While speaking to 93.7 The Fan sister station WQAM Sports Radio in Miami, Florio said he thinks Bell believes he will be over used and that could lead to injury devaluing him on the open market.

“I think once you miss one game check you missed 10 of them, because the play here is to give up that net revenue on $8.55 million gross, that’s what you lose with 10 game checks gone, because you’re looking at making how much more on the open market.”

Florio adds he believes Bell has been influenced by the deals done by players like Aaron Rogers and Aaron Donald.

Florio also points to the knee injuries to Jerick McKinnon and Aaron Rogers as other reasons he will stay out.

“I think that helps reinforce the idea that you got to protect your future payday and the only way he can do it, is not play now,” said Florio.

Earlier this week NFL Network analyst Maurice Jones-Drew said on an NFL podcast that Bell points to the number of carries James Conner had last Sunday against the Browns as evidence that they will overwork him
