PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- In a world that has essentially been flipped on its head, the NFL Draft remains a consistent. At least in the date that it will occur.

Commissioner Roger Goodell handed out a memo last week telling teams that the draft is still going to go on April 23rd-25th despite the rest of the sports world shutting down.

As the draft nears, mock drafts continue to be pushed out. There are still "mocks" out there that have the Steelers drafting Alabama/Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts with as high as the 3rd round compensatory pick.

Do you like this idea?

Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack debated this on The Fan Morning Show Monday morning.

Colin doesn't see how the Steelers would making the right call by going with another young QB in the mix. He said, "When I look at the Jalen Hurts pick that some people think could happen, I just don't think it's even remotely in the cards. I just look at a scrap heap quarterback that is one of these grizzled old vets that you think you can squeeze another year or two out of, that to me makes a whole lot more sense than drafting Jalen Hurts and bringing him along."

Chris says that there is one guy in particular already in the organization that makes the Hurts picks nonsensical.

"They (the Steelers) are not nearly ready to give up on Mason Rudolph. This is a guy they said they had a 1st round grade on and they were lucky enough to get as late in the draft as they did. They are not going to throw him out after 9 games in the NFL. They want to see more from him, they want to see him grow into the backup role more effectively. But then they still believe he can be 'the guy' when Ben Roethlisberger is done. Maybe they're wrong. But they still believe that."

Colin said the exit interviews and the words said about Mason Rudolph from Art Rooney II, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin prove that's the case. So why add Hurts?

What do you think?
