He homered in his only game with the Pirates this year, going 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs before being sent back to the minors.  That didn’t affect Jose Osuna, who was named the International League Player of the Month on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old outfielder/1st and 3rd baseman, hit .361 with Triple A Indianapolis in April.  Osuna led the I.L. in extra-base hits (12) and tied for second with 16 RBIs and nine doubles.  Osuna hit safely in all but one of his 17 games this year.

Osuna is in his ninth season as a pro and is the first Pirates player of the month since Alen Hanson in May of 2015.
