Patriots' Reign Of Dominance Over?

Beginning of the end for Brady, Belichick?

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- There were many things to be discussed today on The Fan Morning Show from this 17-10 win over New England, the first for the Steelers since 2011. But the topic that seemed to draw particular interest was not directly about the Steelers.

It was this: Are we seeing the end of the Patriots' dominance? Is the dynasty finally coming to an end?

The Brady and Belichick combo has been a force in the AFC for about 15 years now but the 2018 version of the Patriots looked awfully mortal on Sunday.

Failures to capitalize on two Roethlisberger interceptions, penalties to set them back and a turnover in a key spot and position on the field from the great Tom Brady are all things we're just not used to seeing from this group.

And they finally lost to the Steelers again!

Is the inpenetrable armour showing some cracks?

Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack won't count the Patriots completely out of things in the AFC, only a fool would do that, but they did notice a change in the way Brady looked Sunday compared to past games.

It seemed that Brady was out of rhythm, pressured consistently by the Steelers front seven (big credit to them) and did things he normally doesn't do.

Brady said after the game that he was trying to throw the ball away on the interception he threw to Joe Haden. So what happened? He couldn't get enough on the throw to get it out of bounds? The guys observed he didn't have as much zip on his throws and really didn't complete any passes down the sidelines. Everything was short or down the middle of the field.

Tom Terrific used to be able to back pedal, throw off balance and hit a receiver in stride 20-30 yards down the field. It seemed like when he tried that Sunday he either threw a pick (Haden) or had the ball sail on him way over his intended receiver's head and hands.

Reports of the Patriots demise may be ENTIRELY exaggerated. Again, you just don't completely count out Brady and Belichick. But, time will tell.

The Fan Morning Show wonders if Brady can really make "all the throws" like he used to.

Are the walls crumbling down on the Patriots reign of dominance?
