Penguins acquire Ben Sexton, Macoy Erkamps from Senators for Stefan Elliot, Tobias Lindberg

Jim Rutherford announced today (Wednesday, December 5th) that the Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Ottawa Senators’ forward Ben Sexton and defenseman Macoy Erkamps in exchange for Stefan Elliott and Tobias Lindberg.


Sexton, 27, is the son of Randy Sexton, a former Penguins’ director of amateur scouting. Ben made his NHL debut last year with his hometown Senators, and has nine assists in 17 games with Belleville at the AHL level this season.

Macoy Erkamps, 23, has six points for the Brampton Beast of the ECHL this year and spent the majority of last season in Belleville.

Both players will report to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
