Penguins Place Casey DeSmith On Waivers

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - According to reports, the Penguins have placed goalie Casey DeSmith on waivers.

The move will make Tristian Jarry the back-up goalie to Matt Murray.

By cutting DeSmith the Penguins eliminate a $1.25 million cap hit.

DeSmith played in 36 games last season starting in 30 of them.

He had a save percentage of .916 going 15-11-5 in 2018-19.

Jarry played in two games last season was 0-1-1 with a .887 save percentage.
