PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Penguins have placed forward Zach-Aston-Reese on injured reserve and recalled Garrett Wilson from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Aston-Reese did not return after fighting Florida’s Colton Sceviour in the third period of the Penguins 5-1 win over the Panthers.

Aston-Reese got the better of Sceviour in the bout, connecting with a right hard punch to the side of Sceviour’s head but was also obviously injured in the fight.

After the game Coach Mike Sullivan didn’t have much information on the injury but said, “My sense is that (Aston-Reese) might be out for a little bit.”

In 30 games with the Penguins, Aston-Reese has eleven points on the year, including six goals.

The 27-year-old forward Wilson has played in 14 games for Pittsburgh this season with two assists and is a plus three.

In WBS, Wilson has eight goals and 10 assists in 18 games in the AHL. He also serves as the team’s Captain and has racked up 69 penalty minutes in those 18 games.

Penguins Forward Patric Hornqvist also left last night’s game early after getting hit in the face with a puck. He did not return.

The Penguins kick off a five-game West Coast road trip Friday against the Anaheim Ducks. The Penguins won’t play at PPG Paints Arena again until after the All-Star break January 28 against the New Jersey Devils.
