Casey DeSmith expected to start for injured Matt Murray Thursday against Vegas

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Penguins officially recalled goaltender Tristian Jarry from the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins Thursday.

Forward Derek Grant has been sent down to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to make room for Jarry.

Jarry lead all NHL rookie goalies last year with 14 wins.

Starting goalie Matt Murray was diagnosed with a concussion that the Penguins say he suffered during practice earlier this week.

The Post-Gazette’s Jason Mackey reported that Murray was back staking Thursday morning in full pads.

Casey DeSmith is expected to get the start Thursday evening at PPG Paints Arena against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is not expected to start .
