PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Some good news on the injury front for the Penguins.

The team has activated Justin Schultz from injured reserve after he missed the last seven games.

The defenseman was out due to a lower body injury.

Schultz has 2 goals and 6 assists for the Pens over 21 games so far this season.

To make room for Shultz, the Pens re-assigned defenseman Zach Trotman to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

While not yet official it is likely Schultz will be on the ice when former Penguins Phil Kessel and the Arizona Coyotes come to PPG Paints Arena Friday night.

Faceoff is at 7:00 p.m.
