PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Five back of the last playoff spot and 7.5 games behind the Cubs in the Central Division, the Pirates are at Colorado tonight at 8:40 p.m. on the Fan.

The Rockies are one of the teams the Bucs would need to jump to make the post-season as Joe Musgrove will oppose lefty Kyle Freeland.

Pirates General Manager Neal Huntington said during his weekly radio show on The Fan that even with the loss of Austin Meadows, Tyler Glasnow and Taylor Hearn they are still doing well in the minors

“We still have a good farm system. We will have good players coming through that are ready to help this club be it tomorrow, next month, next year or the coming years,” said Huntington.

One of those players Huntington is talking about is Triple-A Indianapolis starter J.T. Brubaker, who has been named the International League Pitcher of the Week.

The former 6th round pick out of the University of Akron has a career 2.85 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP.
