PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pirates have a problem, no not that one the other one, the continued rotation of four outfielders.

Starling Marte, Gregory Polanco, Corey Dickerson and Austin Meadows .

The Fan Morning show discussed the situation Monday morning. Colin Dunlap says they have to sit Polanco Monday night in Arizona against left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin. Dunlap adds the lefty Polanco hasn’t been able to effectively hit left-hand pitching all season but it isn’t his turn to sit.

Morning sports anchor Jim Colony thinks Polanco will play tonight because he is 4 for 8 lifetime against Corbin and it isn’t his turn to sit.

Dunlap thinks the four-man rotation causes more problems and the best players should be starting.

Colony says Meadows would be the one scheduled to sit out Monday against the Diamondbacks because he has played the last three games against Chicago. He adds he is okay with Polanco starting because of his record against Corbin.

Dunlap says that with the way Austin Meadows is playing, he should be starting every game and Colony says he doesn’t understand why Meadows sits every few games even though he continues to it.

“It boggles the mind that he has been productive and has been on base, should score more runs than he has, but that’s on other guys,” said Colony.

Dunlap says Polanco isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so how will they be able to get Meadows in the lineup every day? Colony says the most likely move would be trading Dickerson.

“It’s just frustrating because it always seems like the wrong guy is sitting out.”
