Pirates Highlight Features of First Homestand of 2018 Season

The Pirates open up the 2018 season on the road but come back to Pittsburgh on Monday, April 2nd for the home opener against the Minnesota Twins for a 1:05pm game.

On Friday, the Pirates released some highlights for fans coming to the intial homestand of the season.

Monday, April 2 - Pirates vs Twins
It's Magnetic Schedule Day and Pirates calendar day. Fans attending the game will get a Pirates magenetic schedule covering the 2018 season and a Pirates Calendar featuring their favorite Buccos.

Racing legend and Pittsburgh native Chip Ganassi will throw the honorary first pitch and 19060 World Series Champ El Roy Face will throw the cermonial first pitch.

Wednesday, April 3 - Pirates vs Twins
The Pirates host "Buc Night" on Wednesday with a limited number of $1 tickets made available through the MLB Ballpark app.

Thursday, April 5th - Pirates vs Reds
Thursday is Military Day. You can show your suppport for the men and women of our military. There will be an on-field pregame ceremony  honoring the Veterans Leadership Program of Western Pennsylvania. The Pirates will be wearing their Military Days jerseys and hats.

Friday, April 6th - Pirates vs Reds
Get ready to add to your wardrobe on Friday during Free Shirt Night at PNC Park. The 20,000 fans with paid admission get a Pirates t-shirt. Plus, it's also Dollar Dog Night - regular hot dogs are just $1 each.

Saturday, April 7th - Pirates vs Reds
The Bucs are hosting First Responders Night to show their appreciation for the men & women who serve as law enforcement officers, corrections officers, public safety, firefighters, paramedics,
EMTs and first responders. In additional, it's also Zambelli Fireworks Night. Fans can watch the fireworks display immediately after the game right from their seats.

Sunday, April 8th - Pirates vs Reds
Kids rule the day on Sunday because it's Kids Day at PNC Park. The Pirates will have a fun zone set up on Federal Street prior to the game and kids can run the bases on the field after the game. Silver medal winning Olympic speed skater and Pittsburgh native John-Henry Krueger will throw out the first pitch.
