PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Pirates return home after a 5-3 road trip which has them at 10-6 overall and in 1st place in the NL Central. The Pirates begin this home stand with three against the San Francisco Giants followed by 4 against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
FIRST PLACE BUCS
Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle weighs in on what being in first place means even though it's still early in the season.
"If you don't play well, you say it's early, if you play well it's still early," said Hurdle. "It just means we are playing pretty good baseball against the teams we've faced so far. And I think we're mindful of we just need to be the best team we can be, there is room for us to make improvement in every category and that's what we are most mindful of."

INJURED LIST UPDATE
Pirates Outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall is set to begin his rehab assignment with the Indianapolis Indians Friday Night. Chisenhall has been on the IL with a right index finger fracture since the start of the season.
"With (Gregory) Polanco down on rehab as well the right field option is limited except on certain days," said Hurdle. "Tonight it's Left Field, there will be an opportunity at first base, we've hit him some groundballs at third, but it's probably going to be both corners in the outfield, some first base as an option and we'll see if something else presents itself."
