Pirates Option Keller Back To Triple-A, Recall Rodriguez

CINCINNATI (93.7 The Fan) - A day after a disappointing Major League debut, the Pirates have optioned right handed pitcher Mitch Keller to Triple AAA Indianapolis and have recalled Richard Rodriguez.

Keller gave up 6 earned runs in the second game of Monday’s double header against the Cincinnati Reds but was able to adjust and then pitched 3 scoreless inning before being taken out of the game.

Keller is 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA.

Rodriguez is 0-3 with a 5.14 ERA. In 21 innings pitched this season he’s given up 23 hits (8 of those home runs).

The Pirates continue their series against the Reds Tuesday evening in Cincinnati.
